WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) -- A man identified as Jehovah Holy Spirit Jesus faces additional charges after authorities said he intimidated his girlfriend into dropping charges against him.
Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren on Friday ordered the Muskego man held in county jail on charges of bail jumping and intimidating a witness. He was charged as Jesus, but he is also known as Donald Lewis and Steven Summers.
He was charged in June with battery, disorderly conduct and false imprisonment.
According to the criminal complaint, Jesus bear-hugged his live-in girlfriend and wrestled her to the floor. Jesus told police the woman " needed to find the Holy Spirit and come to him to search for the Holy Spirit, " the complaint said.
After those charges, Jesus was released on a signature bond and ordered not to harass the woman.
On Wednesday, after accompanying Jesus to the Muskego Police Department to ask officers to drop the initial charges, the woman was taken to a separate room and questioned. There she admitted she was " extremely afraid" of Jesus and followed his orders because she feared for her safety and that of her children, according to the complaint filed Friday.
She told authorities Jesus asked her to say a prayer to God every day before dinner to have the abuse case dropped, the complaint said.
