Sorry, I can't actually post the link...no idea how to do it.

Some of the comments on there are crazy. The 1975 debacle has been swept under the carpet saying that the Watchtower NEVER intimated that the end would come then. It was just a few JW's who became obsessed with that year and that it was Jehovahs way of removing the non-genuine ones from the organisation.

    The comments are so deluded.

    Thoughts?

    plausable deniability on their part.

    Tuesday at 1:05pm"

JWs have forgotten what was said back then, the talk after the assemblies, etc. I remember a CO telling us, "only 20 more months to go before the end"- Yes, that was in 1973, when he said that. The PO's son quit high school at age 16 in order to pioneer- wow, what a good example that was for the youth. I seem to remember he was up on the stage at a Circuit assembly and held up as an example for the youth, who were thinking about going on to college. He worked for his dad's contracting business and spent 100 hours a month pushing WT literature, because the end was so close. I wish I could call him up, now almost 40 years later and ask him what he thought about quitting school back then.

    EXACTLY moshe.

I was there in the late '60's, I know what happened.

I can't fool myself into thinking it didn't.

The GB had J's holy spirit, they told us this stuff, what to expect etc & we had to believe them or be shunned.

    The pressure was on.

When the 'Truth' book was released a special talk was given at the assembly demonstrating how to curtail bible studies at 6 months for anyone that had not reached the step of baptism.

    The reason??

THE END WAS SO CLOSE, WE CANNOT AFFORD TO WASTE TIME ON THEM!

    How long ago was that?

When '75 passed over us uneventfully, the 6 month deadline was soon dropped.

Doesn't that say something as to what the org was telling us rank & file back then?
