In every poll taken, John Barry's theme to On Her Majesty's Secret Service always comes out on top as the favorite.

In fact I didn't find any poll that put On Her Majesty's Secret Service at the top
I think what skewed those polls you've cited is that the move On Her Majesty's Secret Service has NO TITLE SONG!
When the polls ask which is the best or most popular "song" you get different results from the favorite "score".
I'm a charter member of the John-Barry Groups. We've conducted several polls over the years. Never heard of those other polls. But, it is very interesting to read the results of them.

I find it interesting that you start with the assumption/conviction that the theme to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is the best. Polls showing otherwise are "skewed" and further marginalized because you've "never heard of them".

You missed my point.
The Main Title is a theme and not a song.
A poll of favorite "songs" would automatically EXclude a non song.
