Why did Matthew call it the Good News of The Kingdom?
If anything shows that this preaching of the Good News Of The Kingdom was done by a false Prophet, it is the very wording itself. Let's Look At that scripture in Matthew 24:14 to see what we can learn.
14 "This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come." {Matthew 24:14 HCSB}
If anyone reads through the complete Chapters of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 they will learn that there is anything but good news going on during the time the composite sign of the coming of Christ is in evidence; for they will read about Wars, Earthquakes, Famine, increasing Crime pestilence, and a whole range of negative events, meant for the last days. In actuality a very terrifying time of trouble will be going on. Then too, Matthew foretold that at some point in time during that troubled time period the complete end of this system of things would occur.
"When you hear of wars and rebellions don't be alarmed. Indeed, these things must take place first, but the end won't come right away." 10 Then He told them: "Nation will be raised up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be violent earthquakes, and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from heaven." {Luke 21:9-11HCSB}
25 "Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring sea and waves. 26 People will faint from fear and expectation of the things that are coming on the world, because the celestial powers will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." {Luke 21:25-27 HCSB}
21"for there shall be then great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world till now, no, nor may be. 22 And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the chosen, shall those days be shortened." {Y.L.T.}
Was the Bible writer trying to be humorous, because what I have revealed thus far, is a very terrifying time period, with individuals fainting from fear at the shaking of the Celestial Powers, and the things coming upon the World? In fact, so bad it will be, the Days will have to be cut short or no flesh will be saved, and to ensure and save the lives of the Chosen Ones. That doesn't sound to me to be anything to cheer to loudly about. Nor does the following:
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken. 30 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. {Matthew 24:29-31 HCSB}
7"Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth shall gaze upon Him and beat their breasts and mourn and lament over Him. Even so [must it be]. Amen (so be it)." {Revelation 1:7 AB} So, rather than any good News, quite to the contrary, isn't it? Great mourning and lamantation in store for this World, and Daniel tells us that it will get even worse:
1 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will stand up. There will be a time of much trouble, the worst time since nations have been on earth, but your people will be saved. Everyone whose name is written in God's book will be saved." {Daniel 12:1 NCV} A small amount of good news at least. That is, if your name happens to be written in God's Book. By the looks of the words of Zephaniah it had better be:
18 "Their silver and their gold will not be able to rescue them on the day of the LORD's wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy. For He will make a complete, yes, a horrifying end of all the inhabitants of the earth."{Zephaniah 1:18 HCSB} Jeremiah isn't all that encouraging either, for he's got some bad news:
31 "The tumult reaches to the ends of the earth because the LORD brings a case against ( the nations. He enters into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, He hands them over to the sword—[This is] the LORD's declaration. 32 "This is what the LORD of Hosts says: Pay attention! Disaster goes forth from nation to nation. A great storm is stirred up from the ends of the earth." 33 Those slain by the LORD on that day will be [spread] from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned, gathered, or buried. They will be like manure on the surface of the ground. 34 Wail, you shepherds, and cry out.Roll [in the dust], you leaders of the flock.Because the days of your slaughter have come,you will fall and become shattered like a precious vase. 35 Flight will be impossible for the shepherds,and escape, for the leaders of the flock. 36 [Hear] the sound of the shepherds' cry,the wail of the leaders of the flock,for the LORD is destroying their pasture. 37 Peaceful grazing land will become lifeless because of the LORD's burning anger." {Jeremiah 25:31-37 HCSB}
Looks like very bad news for all of the Religious Leaders, the Shepherds and leaders of the flocks. Their Pasture {Followers} are getting it too. This by the way, is the good news of the Kingdom. The message that should be delivered by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. Wonder why they don't deliver it?
Very probably there would be very few converts were they to tell the whole truth of the matter, because this Good News of the Kingdom is the worst News anyone a part of this World would ever want to hear. So those involved in Preaching the Good News of the Kingdom would have to be a false Prophet or Prophet's, who do not understand the true message that should be delivered, at this time. Which message is the one that should be preached; and that message was, the 'illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ.' The message the Apostle Paul spoke about at 2 Corinthians 4:3,4.
So, this Preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, is anything but good news to this World, but to the Chosen Ones it will be the answer to the model prayer, "Let your Kingdom Come, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." For them the time of this Worlds greatest joy; for them it really will be the Good News of the Kingdom. But only for them. Not for this World, dominated and ruled by satan the devil. For them the most terrifying time in human history, barring of course the flood of Noah's Day. Which was to come, "Just as the days of Noah." "Just as the Days of Lot." "So the Days of the Son of Man will be." {Matthew 24:37-39} {Luke 17:26-30} {Matthew 6:9-13} They took no note then, too. Wannabe
