I realised today that life is so much more of a pleasure now that i can read what i what at my own place.

In the borg i had to constantly read read read the magazines , the latest books, the latest brochures, the meeting prep, the daily scripture and my own personal study. Most of the time i would just speed read in an effort to "get in done", how pathetic is that!?

Now days i can read as much or as little as i want. I can also take my time to enjoy what i'm reading too.

For most of us, we no longer have the guilt of not reading that crap. I rarely ever read any WT publications or studied before meetings.

Look at me now! I fell out of the Truth. What they say is true.

I love the new freedom. I always felt such guilt and so horrible especially at meetings for field service when some zealous sister would go on and on about some stupid story in the magazines.

I love to read too but not all the stupid things that were in the some of the magazines. So much of it was fluff, stuff I could care less about like how to take care of some plant that is in another country that I will never see but for some stupid reason I needed to know about it and just when I thought who cares about this where we live is when sister zealous would go on and on about how loving the FS was in letting us read such in lighting subjects to draw the many new foreigners that have moved into our city to service Jehovah.

Life is so much better now and I love my books.

I find the publications very lacking. The way it's presented and written is like it's for 4th-5th graders. There is no substance to their literature, even growing up and reading through the young people ask books or the book study books, it all seemed to be lacking. After putting it down I wouldn't retain anything because there wasn't anything really to retain, it was all so bland.

I like to read and when I put down the book I like whatever it is to make an impact on me, either thinking about what I was reading, or the thoughts that it provoked. WTS literature is just horrible.

I have renewed interest in reading WTS literature now that I have recently learned about rhetoric. It is fun to identify the logical fallacies, emotional appeals and questionable use of sources.
