I've heard it said that the male female ratio between Jehovah's Witness's is 7 female to 1 male.

When you go to the assemblies or the hall, nothing could be further from the truth. Were do people come up with those numbers anyway? lol

Wow, things must have changed since the `80`s then, I`m sure I would have noticed that. Perhaps it`s that women tend to live longer, and there are lots of pensioners that get dragged to the assemblies??

A statistical survey of some 75 per cent of German witnesses revealed that 39 per cent were men and 61 per cent women.

I do know for sure that the ratio women vs men er highly in favor of men in e.g. Russia and Japan.

Ialso noticed a disproportionate number of women compared to men in Italy.

In Africa it even seemed the other way around.

The stat that everyone is really interested in at assemblies is how many single eligible sisters vs single eligible brothers.

I've always wondered why during the head count at the KH they didn't get simple demographic stats such as count male / female, under 16 and over 60. Would have been revealing over the years as to how many under 16's leave I suppose.

I heard it was 3:1. Could be more, always seem to be plenty of women versus men at assemblies here.

60/40 is about right , worldwide and I would imagine this is probably true of most "Christian" religions. Though in some of the gulf states where the work is officially under ban but somewhat tolerated (such as the UAE & Kuwait ) there are JW congregations of 200 filipino women & a couple of men. I don't know if this would be a dream or a nightmare - answers on a postcard...........

Well, it also depends on age. There still may be a lot of single men in their early 20's, but, by the thirties they either left or are already married.
