Below, I've copied something that the WTS says at their official site ... regarding the astrologers that entered the picture a couple of years after Jesus' birth. I thought that the part I've changed to blue font speaks volumes as to the question/riddle of whether the "Star of Bethlehem" which the Magi saw was God's doings or that of Satan's. And so the controversy surrounding this issue the WTS has laid to rest as far as I'm concerned ... just one of many reasons why I still have a great deal of respect for the WTS.

The not-so-wise part about what was said there though, I've changed to red font. It says that Jesus is actually ruling at the present time. And of course it's well known that this means since 1914, which I know to be a mistake.

The part I've placed in green font, and underlined, speaks of the recipe for which peace and security can and will be accomplished. It is quite obvious that ONLY when such recipe is followed can there ever be peace and security on earth (the 8th King will presume to have found its own recipe for "peace & security, but will be proven wrong). If Adam had only appreciated this simple, obvious fact then TODAY mankind would be living in paradise (the essence of peace and security). But the Bible shows that God's original purpose hasn't changed, and no man nor even the powers of darkness can prevent his purpose from finally being realized. To imagine otherwise would suggest that God sacrificed his son for nothing. I can certainly visualize, not just earth's peoples, but the entire material and spiritual universe forever partaking of the pleasures which life has to offer, simply due to the reason that each person living at that time has learned the "recipe".

What a foolish mistake on Adam's part ... and an intentionally wicked act as perpetrated by Satan. I can fully understand why Satan and his demon followers are ALREADY doomed to eternal death (the lake of fire) -- because for a person to show himself willing to do what he did has crossed a line from which there is no return. Certainly, no person who is capable of repentance would ever consider doing what Satan has done, and which his followers, the Demons, willingly joined with him in doing. This explains why they are all so desperate to prevent God's purpose from succeeding. Yes even Satan and his followers have a love for the precious commodity called life, and they know that unless they can somehow stop God then their lives are due to end forever. -- Yadirf.

    The Astrologers
Matthew's account mentions that astrologers from the East came to Jerusalem looking for the place where the King of the Jews was born. King Herod was very interested in this—but not with good intentions. "Sending them to Bethlehem, he said: 'Go make a careful search for the young child, and when you have found it report back to me, that I too may go and do it obeisance.'" The astrologers found the young child and "opened their treasures and presented it with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh." But they did not go back to Herod. "They were given divine warning in a dream not to return to Herod." God used an angel to warn Joseph of Herod's intentions. Joseph and Mary then fled to Egypt with their son. Next, in an effort to eliminate the new King, cruel King Herod ordered the killing of boys in the Bethlehem area. Which boys? Those two years of age and under. -- Matthew 2:1-16.

What Can We Learn From the Account?
The visiting astrologers—however many of them there were—did not worship the true God. The Bible version La Nueva Biblia Latinoamérica (1989 Edition) states in a footnote: "The Magi were not kings, but fortune-tellers and priests of a pagan religion." They came in line with their knowledge of the stars to which they were devoted. Had God wanted to guide them to the young child, they would have been led to the exact place without needing to go first to Jerusalem and to Herod's palace. Later on, God did intervene to alter their course to protect the child.

At Christmastime this account is often surrounded by a mythical and romantic atmosphere that obscures the most important thing: that this baby was born to be a magnificent King, as was announced to Mary and to the shepherds. No, Jesus Christ is not a baby anymore, or even a child. He is the ruling King of God's Kingdom, which very soon will eliminate all rulerships opposed to God's will, and he will solve all problems of mankind. That is the Kingdom we ask for in the Lord's Prayer. -- Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10.

Through the angels' declaration to the shepherds, we learn that the opportunity for salvation is open to all who are willing to hear the message of the good news. Those who gain the favor of God become "men of goodwill." There are marvelous prospects for peace in all the world under the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, but people must be willing to do God's will.... -- Luke 2:14.

Speaking of colors you make a very pretty picture, Noidea. BTW, do you have Anyidea as to how my screen name is spelled? (Yadirf, not "Yardif".) That's okay though, really, considering the hundreds of times you've probably seen it purposely misspelled. These people think such things bother me, bother me, bother me.........
