My mother and mother in law are both JWs and are starting to resepct my position to leave.

That being said, I'm not sure how to be strong but loving about my position about even mentioning "demons" to my kids when they get older (I have a 5 month old).

I mean there is enough stuff in this world that is designed to be scary and that's fine... until someone my kids respect tell them that it's all ACTUALLY REAL.

    Ugggghhhh.

I hope they don't tell them about demons. That was one thing that frightened me so much. It didn't stop when I grew up either. When I rejected the notion of a god, and therefore did not believe in demons anymore that took such a load off of my mind. I am no longer fearful of "possession."

The terror that comes from the "true reality of the Demonic Angelic Rebellion" is actually the SOLE REASON, IMO, that such destructive cliques within the organization exist. They attribute way too much power to these forces and will seriously error on the side of caution when anything is "suspiciously demonic"

When my parents were still JWs, I didn't allow any unsupervised visits. Problem solved.

If I hear one peep about the "wicked spirit forces" I will probably do the same thing.

I am very protective over my son when it comes to superstisions that lead to fear and ultimately availability for control.

So true. They also make it seem like there is always a demon around you; to pick up on something you say or do and wreak havoc in your life. That is extremely frightening. It's bad enough that "god" was always reading your thoughts, but the devil was also watching you? I was repetitively praying for deliverance from the wicked one. It's all part of the WT manipulation.

Great minds think alike. I couldn't agree more!
