I'd be interested to know what the motivation is for many of their changes. For example, we know that they left the UN after being busted by The Guardian newspaper. So 1 reason is when they are caught they change. What might some other motivations be for change? It'd definitely not things WE bring up...

I think they covered their tracks as best they could with the UN thing, but how do we know/prove what actually transpired. If their is some benefits from rubbing shoulders they will keep doing it. How much opposition must there have been to the stupid overlapping bull, and yet they published it and even broadcast it at the assemblies. So many things seem to suggest that logic was the last consideration. As long as the lawyers say that they can handle any fallout, then it goes as they (the few old farts that make up the present gb) want it to.
