Everyone asked, "Where were you and what were you doing when you heard about 9/11". Each story is always detailed and rather complimenting to the storying teller. One day I want to hear someone be honest and say something like ...
"I had the worst case of diaheria ever and in the bathroom, when my friend knocked on the door and told me?"
... life is real, and not everyone was in a major dramatic moment when they heard about it, and that is simply the truth.
I was performing CPR on a man in the street who had gone into cardiac arrest when someone came up to me & told me what had happened. I immediately stopped what i was doing & went home to watch it on tv, stopping at the supermarket to purchase some popcorn on the way.
I was treating patients in the Operating room at St vincent's hosapital in NY. We had to cancel all elective surgurys after this happenened.
