I adore the Final Fantasy music! I fell in love with FF7 and 8. I have soundtracks for 8 and 10, plus piano soundtracks for 7 and 9. I even had Final Fantasy on my cell phone for awhile. Nobuo Uematsu, or perhaps I should say, Uematsu-san, is a musical genius on par with John Williams.

I agree with you.
However, Wikipedia has said about him like this."A self-taught musician, he began to play the piano when he was eleven or twelve years old;
he did not take any formal piano lessons."
