Modern day Pharasee's they like people to see how MUCH they have sacrificed for "the Kingdom".....all the Pioneers on stage boasting of "the blessings of Jehovah makes one rich." {Yes I'm poor but sprirtually rich and doing the right thing unlike all of YOU} Take the brother I studied with 12 years ago for example. He's now a Servant and ALWAYS mentions how thankful he is I was soooo patient with him, and sooooo loving......he always does this in front of others and in an almost fake "bad actor" way. I always found it corny and irratating. But he likes to bring attention to himself.
Why are Witnesses so into SELF Glorification instead of God....example of my ex-bible study!

Because it's all they have - sad really...I can relate to what you say. Recently saw those of our clan that are still in; the big news is always how they're doing spiritually (as opposed to us, I guess!); son has been appointed elder(!); everybody's supposed to ooh and ahh. SO WHAT?! Self-aggrandizement is all it is. It's all they've got. They have to beat their own drum continuously.

Because their doctrine is flawed and their predictions are not going to happen. So they turn to their separation from the world, and call it Holy. In turn, glorifying themselves.
Like the above poster said, the only thing they can do to cover up their folly is toot their own horn.
