I was at a used book store recently, and ran across something that had me in stitches.
This book was on the shelf... Carefully "studied", yellow highlighter graced many of the pages, their yellow marks straight as an arrow by the edge of a ruler.
I m not sure how this person was able to "study" it since it didn't have any questions at the bottom of the page.
Must have been one of those "Independent Thinkers"
I didn't read the book, I think I know what I need to know by now.

That would only be the brother appointed to read, or the sister with the napkin on her head.
As we were fading from the org, my ex and I began reading lots of self help books.
All the books my ex read would be soaked in highlighter, literally more then 50% of the text would be glowing yellow.
Strangely enough, he never did the highlighter thing as a witness, all his study copies looked pristine.
But when he found something he actually wanted to study (self help books), he studied it.........Watchtower style.
I bought a second hand copy of George Orwell's 1984 and this had all been marked up - I did wonder whether a JW had read it
It is not unusual for English majors working on a paper to mark a book with highlight pens in order to isolate quotes for future reference in the text of thier observations. The Orwell book must have been put to good use.

That brings back some memories! Trying to keep my face straight whilst the sister saying the prayer was also balancing a bit of material on top of her head at the same time. Hilarious!
I can remember sitting in a meetings once looking at a brother's study book or Watchtower (can't remember exactly what it was) that was ALL highlighter! Yes, every single line on the pages being studied glowing in bright flourescent yellow. Fascinating!
