OK, I'm watching TV over the weekend and I'm not seeing any of the supposed human rights abuses everyone is crying about for the detainees in Guantanamo. These guys are fed well (and the food is culturally appropriate) They are kept warm at night (nice blankets) and cool in the day time (ventilation) They can pray when they wish. The American's there are living in tents which are hot and stuffy during the day (no ventilation in those) and cold and stuffy at night (no heaters). The meals the American soldiers eat are repetitive and poorly prepared. The soldiers can NOT worship as they feel, but must adjust their schedule of worship to the guard shift. I'm seeing the US Soldier's giving up more than the detainees...by far. The detainees are not physically abused while the American's are in danger from the detainees at all times. (Remember, these are the guys who said they would attempt to kill an american while on Cuba)
Just an observation, what are the supposed abuses again? I've been treated worse than the detainees are being treated in a military school.

Yeru, I’m not one to belittle a fellow poster, but how can you see those images and not be disgusted at the way they are being treated. Do you have a color television? Did you see how the detainees are dressed? Tacky, tacky, tacky. And speaking of television, what about television for the poor lads? What no MTV?
Oh yes they provided each detainee a Koran, but I’ll just bet it’s the cheap paperback kind and not the deluxe version.
Personally I think it’s wrong to have them in Cuba, I say send them to the USA. In fact, the best place for them is on Rikers Island Penitentiary in New York City. It’s my understanding many of the New York inmates would love to meet these folks and give them a real nice special New York welcome. I would too!
I read your reply twice before I realized it was in Jest. TOO TRUE the things you say. As more is revealed on what's going on in GITMO the less people have to be upset about. No abuse would be allowing one of the "Brother's" do door to door ministry to each cell (imagine the hours you could count there).
