Is God a Real Person?

    excerpts from October Awake:

"Awed by nature, many people are compelled to believe in a supernatural force, a deity."

It is implied that it is nature that compels us, but is this really so?

    Compel:

    • Force or oblige (someone) to do something
    • Bring about (something) by the use of force or pressure
    • Drive forcibly

By definition, does this action of being compelled really seem to be a force instigated by enjoying scenery? I tend to think of authority figures as ones who do the "compelling".

"The Bible says that God is an invisible spirit."

(but yet the WT shows illustrations of a fleshly looking "God" sitting on a throne? )

"Accordingly, by using God's name often, his worshippers treat him as a person."

So God is an invisible spirit, but yet God is a Him, and if you give Him a Name, you might start believing the Invisible Him is a real Person.

god is a spirit creature, the watchtower as well as every other church ive ever been to often resorts to picture imagery of certain bible scriptures....
jehovah god himself said his name in the bible and he wanted it used[read the moses story] but god dosent want men to imagine himself, because jehovah made for us an image of himself to represent himself in a mans body read heb chap 1 we have lost any records over the years of how jesus looked and a book is a poor substitute for a liveing person, still we can read the bibles stories and print pictures on paper of what is written, their is no danger their because we are not comiting an idolatry but simply printing on paper what the prophet,or apostle said he saw in his vision.. and no its not dangerous to think of jehovah as a real person, if it was he himself would not have sent a real person to portray himself! hebrews chapt 1
