... Dressed up as jesus from their own illistrations, i mean beard, dress, sandles and staff.

    What would they do?

I think they would freak out!

If Jesus went to Bethel to check out the naughty FDS it would look like this below. He looks out of place doesn't he?

I guess they would be surprised...A friend of mine grew his hair into a long pony tail..he had a succession of "shepherding" visits, then faded from the cong. I think the elders were pleased to see him go..

Mind you, I have met a fair few Bro's from Africa at the big International Assembies at Twickenham dressed just like this...and they were held in high regard ! inconsistant, isn't it..?

Mind you, he is not wearing a beard!

You can get away with a lot of stuff if you say it's cultural dress or a cultural practice.

We had this African brother who was with us for years, always wore a nice suit. When he finally gave his first public talk, he wanted to wear traditional African garb (as pictured above). I told him he would be doing it for a showy display on his first talk. He was confused. I said, "If you wore that stuff regularly or at least semi-regularly over the past few years, then it would be fine. But to suddenly get out the African dress clothes for a talk- NO, ain't gunna happen." I think if a "brother" turned up dressed like Jesus (I would assume you mean that he is a known "brother") they would similarly have a talk with him about the showy display. But if some stranger showed up like that, they would try to make sure he wasn't crazy and sit him down for the meeting. But there's no way anyone would become a "brother" doing that or would retain any privileges at all by doing that.

Okay, that was my serious answer. I suppose they would say, "You know how Jehovah feels about beards in the last days, brother."

There's a dude like that in my town. He dresses like Jesus and rides a bicycle all over the place. I'm not sure what his deal is but I think he's a crackpot as do most others. If a JW bro did that, he'd he treated like a crackpot as well...
