Okay I few years ago in Melbourne he blew over .05 when stopped by cops so he tells the Congregation later that I qoute: "I wasn't drinking....the sugar in Coke must have fermented in my stomach........" Yeah sure Bro! Whats dumber is that many "scientific" Witnesses believed him!

I have a family member that has not once but twice went to jail for DUI and still a MS....! The local Cong. is so desperate for brothers their main concern is geared around "Who knows"? Since no one knows it is swept under the rug

I have news for them. Sugar doesn't ferment in the stomach in that short a time, unless you have MAJOR digestive problems. If you do, you will probably be burping a lot because it also creates lots of carbon dioxide. Perhaps it wasn't the Coke so much as the rum he mixed in with it.
And, as a witless, I thought drunkenness is grounds for "not inheriting God's Kingdom". And that's just drunkenness, which is a personal matter. When one chooses to drink and drive, it becomes a public safety issue and becomes the business of everyone that is on that highway. However, I am not surprised that they simply look the other way--they do that with pedophiles all the time, and even eating a baby is not automatic grounds for anything more than sweeping the incident under the rug until the police finally bust them for it.

That is a pretty creative excuse. When I read your title I lol. I can't believe anyone would take that seriously though. It's sad that they did.

Not sure, but I don't think refined sugar "ferments" without a catalyzing agent - wheat, fruit, grain, etc. Sounds highly suspect........

Wow! Someone contact the news, there may be a lot of lawyers who could use this to help get DUI people off.

Sugar fermeents when it has yeast in it. The yeast eats the sugar and poops out alcohol. That's right, alcohol is yeast poo.
