Trouble is, "political correctness" is the gateway to total loss of freedom of speech, and then the loss of freedom of thinking. Many "anti-gay" comments merely suggest that some gay people might be less socially able than straight people, or that gay people should not be given special rights and privileges. Or, that they should not be forcing their lifestyle on those who do not want it. And, if something like "Homosexuality should not be taught as a healthy alternative lifestyle in school; that should be up to the parents" becomes "hate speech", we are about to lose all freedom of thinking, speech, and having differing opinions.
At the same time, the Washtowel Slaveholdery takes precisely the opposite viewpoint, having zero tolerance of gay people. Often I hear the witlesses calling them "fairies" and "fruitcakes", claiming that gay people that are minding their own business are evil and how glad they will be when such get destroyed. And, the witlesses impose this viewpoint on the whole flock--take a more middle viewpoint, and they will continually hound you until you are forced back to the extreme. Again, total loss of freedom of opinion is the result.
I would rather people focus on getting the real problems solved. Why does someone need to be all the way pro-gay in order to get our problems solved? Most of them have to do with excess restriction on businesses and excessive red tape keeping checks and balances out of the system, or in wasting your tax dollars. To me, "A gay lifestyle should not be taught in school as a healthy alternative lifestyle; that is the parents' job" is no reason for a politician to be blasted out of public office. Such a person understands that it is up to the parents, meaning they are more likely to keep the government out of parenting (in other areas as well). And, they are more likely to understand the more vital concept of individual rights, and uphold such.

WTWizard:
- What is a "gay" lifestyle in your oppinion?
- Where are the many gays who want special rights and priveleges? (not just a small fringe group of crazies)
- What are those special rights and priveleges?
Finally, are there any difference in your oppinion on demanding equal rights for gay and straight and in demanding equal rights for black and white people in any matter that does not involve adopting children or artificial insimination?
(i leave those two out because they tend to cloud the subject, not because i believe gay people should not have those rights)

His comments are filled with hate.
His comments has caused him to fear for his life and his family.
Last night I saw an interview on local news with someone that met him in Pleasant Plains to talk about this,
McCance was carrying a gun, he is scared.
I used to live a hop, skip and a jump from this area, very backwards.
Kudos for Arkansas for not tolerating this, as I know many feel the same way he does.
His Christian faith seeks forgiveness for his comments, but his Christian faith planted what he feels in his heart.
Midland School District October 27, 2010 For Immediate Release: The Midland School District, Board of Directors, administration, faculty, and staff do not support or condone the comments Mr. Clint McCance posted on his personal social networking page. Actually, the trouble is, taking a moral stand against freedom of sexual preference and then imposing that POV upon others. We need to understand the difference between "political correctness" and "hate speech."
This bully was expressing the hatred in his heart. Fair enough. But he should not be on a school board, where decisions are made about how best to protect kids from just that type of bullying.
