What's the Importance of ''Titles" with Jehovah Witnesses ?

For example, my wife ( a former pioneer ) said if she got reinstated; she couldn't get her pioneering back for at least 3 years. I'm like ''baby if you want to come back than just be a ''pioneer at heart " get the 50 to 70 hours without the ''title''. She said it's not the same. Can someone with privileges ( past Elders, Ministerial Servants, Pioneers, or Bethelites etc.) explain the importance of titles in with the JW's ?

That's one of the reasons why I'm still on the fence about ''coming back'' because I've seen people ( brothers or sisters )literary back-stab or stop being friends because of privileges.

Cults use titles to establish a pecking order. Any level can override the level below, thus insuring control. If Joe Elder steps out of line, he risks the CO coming to town and removing him. If the average publisher drinks too much at a "gathering" he is going to end up in the back room on Tuesday night.

Titles give you instant credibility when meeting new witnesses. If you are and elder or a MS, its going to come up in the first 5 minutes of conversation. It sets the tone as to how high up you are in the corporation.

For women, I imagine its more for bragging rights. All you can really be as a woman is a pioneer, so of course everyone fawns over you because you "sacrifice" by give up time that would be spent working or taking better care of your family. If you don't have the title, others don't really recognize how much you are doing, so what is the point? It really shows that they aren't really "doing it for Jehovah" but rather for the appearance it gives to the other members.

So much for them all being the 'same' as they like to brag about. I've asked my jw about this years ago too, why when you claim you are all the same without clergy class or 'titles' do you have people fighting over being ms, elder, etc... why the big deal about who has priveleges or not? typical response- change the subject and/or talk about how Catholics blah, blah, blah (which why he brings that up to me is a mystery as well, I've never been a Catholic)

Cults like to use reward and punish to control. The Better you are the bigger your Title will be but beware if you mess up cuz it will be taken away from you. It makes them think you are more spiritual and sometimes will make you think you are more spiritual this is all good for the cult cuz now they have you

I was never one to run to the Elders with things.... but if someone ever interfered with my children I was on the fight.

Anyway to end of story, when I brought out the issue to an Elder he said .. "Well that's our pioneer you're talking about

isn't it ? " I was stunned ...in my mind I thought so what ? Titles do indeed give" unspoken about" , privilege and immunity !

Anyway I said to the Elder can I count on you to deal with this issue.? ( all I got was a stunned , shocked look as a reply.)

I was told later by another Elder that my problem was revenge. I said no.." it is equal Justice for all ."

I said to him.. "if I reported a brother who murdered someone... would you do nothing if you knew I hated him ??

My motive should have nothing to do with your actions as long as my facts are straight "
