Just an interesting blurb I ran across and thought some of you might find it interesting.

According to traditional Jewish historiography, the Great Assembly (Anshe Knesset HaGedolah) was an assembly of 120 rabbis that ruled in the period after the time of the prophets up to the time of the development of rabbinic Judaism in 70 CE. They bridge a period of about two centuries. The tradition teaches that they redacted the books of Ezekiel, the twelve minor prophets (The Trei Asar), and the books of Daniel and Esther.

A redacted bible sounds a pretty good deal. It would be tempting to redact all of those books from start to finish and just leave the titles.

There are a lot of fingerprints on the OT. Professor Solomon Schechter wrote- ' Twentytwo German universities and half a dozen English universities have issued their Commentary on the book of Isaiah, each different from the other. What a delight it would be to have Isaiah rise from the dead and tell us what he actually meant.'
