If you haven't seen this movie - watch it!!!! It's a wonderful story. You laugh and you cry.
It's an Italian movie from 1988. I will give it to my father as a christmas gift - he is italian btw.

I can recommend L'uomo delle stelle. It's Italian, obviously . It's about a freelance photographer who cons people into having their photos taken for big Lira, to be submitted to film makers so they can become movie stars. It's abit fruity in places. Brilliant Sicilian dialect.

The director has done a semi-autobiog. called Bardi ? spelling ? it too is a great movie. It goes from youth to old age of a guy in his home town,very Sicilian, but he had to film much of it in Tunisia I believe, too many modern buildings in his home town today.
I love Sicily and its people, my wife is half Italian and half stoopid, sorry I mean English.
