So, my wife is surfing Facebook today. Comes across a post by a JW "friend" of ours titled "8 Scientific Reasons You Should Never Smoke Weed."
It turns out to be an article actually showing evidence to the contrary! I LOLd so hard!

Is there anything these days that does not invoke cognitive dissonance in JW? (I mean, pot couldn't possibly be safer than GB approved alcohol right???)
Talk about desperately looking for sources of confirmation bias, thinking you found one, and either completely not getting the sarcasm or just not reading the article.

It will be interesting to see how the society handles the legalization of cannabis. Especially since they cannot use the old fallback that smoking destroys your lungs because a lot of the pot today is inhaled by vapor pens or eaten as an edible.

the GB approved of smoking weed for medicinal purposes which shocked the hell out of my husband and I. We thought when their letter of recommendation came it would say something along the lines of, taking Marijuana as a medication is ok so long as it's legally prescribed by a doctor and not smoked because of the unhealthy, unclean habits of smoking.
Well low and behold they said if a doctor prescribed it as ok to use in any format they gave their blessing. The only thing they cautioned and said would prevent a brother from priveledges was if he chose to grow his own medicinal plants because then that could open the way for possible abuse. It was a total flip flop of how I thought their stance would be
