My JW mum came to visit
I have said before that she is the only sane JW i know...
She is 70 now and just returned from a holiday to england to see her mother (91). She went with her daughter who is disassociated for some years now.
Anyway, she and her husband (Faded, not my dad nor stepfather) made a quick trip down by car from queensland. They stayed 3 days, with me (disfellowshipped) and spent a good day visiting her youngest daughter (not baptised) and her (worldly husband) and 3 kids. The house was decorated for xmas, complete with tree.
During the visit she also talked to my (worldly) wife about various personal issues in her life and on one occasion remarked that my ex wife (baptised) was not a good JW.
I think it is totally wrong that families have to be broken up into labels.
My mother obviously does not agree with the WT society on shunning her family, and for this she has my wife and my imense respect. I cannot bring myself to tell or hint in anyway that the 'truth' is not the truth. I see no real good for her in that. Perhaps she already knows its a lie but it is her only social contact as all we children are spread over this country and she is quite isolated in a rural area. Thank goodness her elders dont know about the visits or i am afraid they would put pressure on her...
At no time in the visit was anything JW discussed or raised, and for a short time it was just family. The way it should be.
