Why not at least lock Satan up until the court case happens?

  I was cleaning the house yesterday and my husband had an Awake out. I just flipped through it for a second and one article struck me. It was the example of why God is allowing suffering and it being a court case. I know we have all heard that example so much in our years of being a JW.

  But it got me to thinking about the Elizabeth Smart case. It took about 8 years to try the creep who abducted her and raped her every day. During these last eight years he was sitting in some kind of jail waiting for trial not out roaming the streets looking for a new victim or worse Elizabeth. Now the way the WT has it Satan is way worse than even the sick perverted creep who raped Elizabeth and Jehovah has to do a court case like just happened with the Smart case. Yet Jehovah is allowing Satan to roam around torturing humans until the trail can begin.

  So why at the very least dose not Jehovah put Satan in some kind of holding cell so he cannot continue to rape, murder, and torture human beings. If imperfect men knew enough to hold David Mitchell the guy who rapped Elizabeth should God at least put Satan in something to stop him until the court case can be held?

  To me the reasoning of JW's would be like letting the creep who rapped Elizabeth to still have control over Elizabeth, it would be like her dad saying well we really hate to see Elizabeth suffer but it is a bigger picture that is hard to understand. We need to see where Elizabeth's loyalties lay, with us her family or with Mitchell. That makes no sense anyway you look at it. You would think Elizabeth's dad was sick if he ever said that, yet the WT tells us we have to believe a God of love feels and acts that way. That is really sick. No wonder it has never made sense to me.

  I asked my husband this question and he could not answer me and he has been an elder for 32 years.

  Important political people (and people with enough money) generally are let out on bond until they are found guilty. The really important political people are still out on appeal or waiting for a sentencing.

  Who's more important than Satan? Oh, well.... Michael. But that's about it in the angel world. It doesn't matter that Illinois' governor was accused of taking bribes that caused deaths on the highway. (He was previously the head of the Ill. DMV and helped illegal immigrants get truck drivers' licenses.) What mattered was that he was the governor, so he went to prison after sentencing and not before.

  If Satan were locked up, it wouldn't explain all the evil.

  OR

  Bible-based religion is stuck with what was written. The Bible says it, so Satan cannot be locked up yet. Since he isn't, God must be right in not doing it.

  The Devil is the alter ego of the angry evil Hebrew God of the Old Testament who does not exist either.

  OTHW and Ding you are both right and I know that my husband will use your reasoning with me when he clearly thinks it through. But OK I agree people get out on bond and people with power do not get treated right but not people like this creep who rapped Elizabeth. Ones who truly are a danger to others are held even against their will so they cannot harm others. Could not a God of love do the same with Satan?

  I know reasoning with my husband will go in a circle like usual.

  Letting Satan rome the Earth is Gods way of collecting evidence,, He want's to get a clean conviction of Satan so he's letting him do his thing and it's all being magically video taped so when the big trial happens nobody will have any doubts about who is the good guy and who is the liar..

  God's need for evidence, and worship trumps, peoples lives in the big God in the sky rule book. It is worth it because it's for a nobel cause of a very good person in fact the greatest most stupendous person in all existance GOD.

  Why is the 'Satan' character of the NT such a fabricated non-Jewish concept supposedly from Jewish people. It makes the Watchtower writers look like novices in the lie department.

  Yeah Satan becomes God's Evil Twin, is a conglomeration of Zoroastrian influence on the Jewish deportees and NT writings.

  It's an interesting psychologically, I think a God, that was made of 4 parts like a combination of the father, son, devil, and holly spirit ,, than might a have more balancing effect on the psyche than the some how inferior Evil Twin. Look at the record of this type of Deity has had on men over the centurys. The apeal to all sorts of slaughter in the Name of God.

  A much more benign Diety that recognized Evil in a less egoc entic way. That would be a lot more healthier.
