The United States Knew about 9-11 in advance?

Delmart Vreeland, a 35-year-old American is in Canadian Custody for credit card fraud charges. Here's the kicker, he claims to be a lieutenant in a U.S. Navy intelligence unit, basically a spy who knew in advance about 9-11.

In his affidavit, he says he tried to warn Canadian intelligence about possible terrorist attacks on New York and the Pentagon, along with targets in Ottawa and Toronto, but was written off as a petty criminal.

So he wrote the warning on a piece of paper, sealed it in an envelope, and handed it to jail guards a month before the attacks. They opened the letter Sept. 14 and immediately forwarded the information to Ottawa.

His lawyers, Rocco Galati and Paul Slansky, are telling the court he could face treason charges and the death penalty in the U.S.

I also found this, it seems to be the reason he was arrested in Canada.

If Delmart E. Vreeland was indeed a credit card fraud artist eluding police by traveling to Canada, how did he get information about 9-11 attacks? If he was a spy for the US Military was the credit card fraud thing something he was really doing on the side and got in trouble for or was it something that was being done to him, and so he fled to Canada? Or was he simply a petty criminal who somehow got his hands on the 9-11 information?

Conspiracy theories are fun. They are almost always improvable but it's fun to speculate.

Can anyone confirm or disprove any of the details in the story, especially anyone in Canada?

Whatever happens in Canada must be viewed with caution. I hear people talk about events that happen in Canada, but do they really. Are there really people who live there? Could humans actually survive the cold and the food? I know there are some ice fishing guides and all, but is there life as we know it?

I've always been fascinated with this myth we call "Canada".

Haven't heard of this guy, but here is what I do know:

    1. I myself read about bin Laden's plans in the weeks before 9/11. They were in the newspaper. Just like all the other times he had warned something bad was going to happen soon. This time, something actually did happen. So it's not as if we didn't have warning, for we did and I read about it in August.

    2. The NSA or FBI captured terrorist messages over the phone describing the upcoming attacks, including plans. They claim they didn't get around to deciphering the messages until after 9/11, which is why they claimed they didn't warn anybody. So yes, we did know in advance, and either didn't get around to reading what was captured in time, or we did and covered it up for whatever reason.

The conspiracy theorists point out that the one person who benefitted most from these attacks is Bush, and his administration. The ridicule has stopped, and he has a free hand to do whatever the hell he wants to do and if anyone questions him, he points out that it's to "fight terrorism," and that shuts the opponent up. His administration has rammed through Congress a bunch of legislation that they have wanted for a long time that would erode the rights of U.S. citizens while increasing the power of the government. 9/11 gave them the reason to get this through.

So there is a plausiblel reason why the government might have known about the attacks and chose to do nothing. No doubt, under this scenario, they had no idea the attacks would be as successful as they were and that the buildings would actually collapse. I'd like to think, even as I spin this imagined scenario, that they would have acted had they realized the depth of the destruction that would follow.

None of the above is true, just a possible scenario under which it would make sense for the government to know in advance but do nothing. And for those of you horrified to think that a government could williingly allow Americans to die in order to further an agenda.....what do you think governments do??

That's a good point about North Dakota. I've actually been there and have seen people. But the questions should be, why are there people there and should they be there?

Hmm...I suppose everyone here knows that Hitler used a 'terrorist' event (some government building was burnt down, and he blamed it on terrorists), to get his ass into power. He signed in many laws, supposedly to preserve the 'state of the reich' or something equally ridiculous, and we all know what happened immediately after that, now don't we?

I tend to believe that maybe they had warnings of a terrorist attack but 1) The US was over confident and didn't think the terrorist could do it and 2) Even if they had an idea of an attack but didn't have specific details , Where do you begin to look?? I believe this was the case. Every one always wants to jump on the conspiracy theory i.e. Kennedy, Martin Luther King assassination etc. After 9-11 I heard experts on TV saying they had been warning of terrorists attacks for years but weren't taken seriously.

They knew the date and some of the possible targets. I can say this because some of the targets were very well guarded! I know that personel were placed in very close proxcimity to several of the Called Ones (Anointed) that I know.

That is all I know for fact.

I find it hard at the moment to believe even anyone as low on the evolutionary ladder as a politician could have let this go ahead.

But I can think of plenty of reasons why they would, as outlined by other posters.

I mean, look; no body dare say shit about new restrictions on liberties bought in to help in the 'war on terrorism', millitary spending can go through the roof, thanking the millitary industrial combine for their support, the US can act like they like Internationally with only the sound of foreheads smacking pavement at home, a re-election is a shoo-in, and Bush jokes are out of fashion.

Of course, it is all circumstancial and rather far-fetched.

Personally, if it is true, and it was pre-meditated negligence, I hope those concerned are executed; what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
