  Dear Brothers,

  I noticed the front page article in the February, 2002 OUR KINGDOM MINISTRY is entitled 'The Happiest People on Earth'!

  Is this a misprint? Under the paragraph 'Reasons for Being Happy' it is stated that '....attending all the meetings satisfies the spiritual need people have, and so that makes them happy. Funny thing, when I was an Elder for over 20 years people were the most happy when the meetings were cancelled or the Public Speaker didn't show up for some reason! Of course you later arranged for an Elder to always have a back up talk ready in the event of a no show much to the chagrin of most of the Publishers!

  You also reported in paragraph 3 that 'A newspaper reporter noted: "Despite all their strict standards, Jehovah's Witnesses do not appear to be unhappy. To the contrary. The young as well as the older (ones among them) present an appearance of being unusually joyful and well balanced." Well, I think you might have that right, it is just 'an appearance' and not reality.

  Another thing, it seems that I am much more happy now that I don't attend the meetings, and more spiritual too! Others report the same!

  Who wrote that 'crazy' article anyway?

  Just substitute the word CRAPPY whereever you see HAPPY, and also CRAPPIEST for HAPPIEST. Then it starts to enter the realm of realism.

  Great name! I also recall once when there was a no show and everybody was happy to leave early.At first you could feel the tension in the air as we all waited for the elder to show up and then when it was announced that we were going to go right to the Watchtower study excitement filled the air!Yeah were out early!!!!

  It was a relief when the speaker didn't turn up and there was just the WT study!

  that is really true, when there was a cancelled talk or meeting everyone was happy, including me.
  They say JWs are the happiest, well that is funny, because i know some of the most miserable witnesses around. I was told by my family doctor that if I only knew how many JWs are so unhappy and that they told him (DR) that they say I have great courage to do what I did and they wish they had the courage to do it themselves, but they can't because they are to afraid of the reprecutions.
  Many witnesses say hello to me or wink at me with the exception of me entire family to them I am completely dead.
  So much for statistics....

  PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME!!
