Question on Genesis 6:5

in genesis 6:5 Jehovah confirmed to Jehovah that all actions from man would be bad and only bad and all the time. Does that not make genesis 6:8 a bad thing? a willingly forced respect toward Jehovah that was enough foundation to build love from. finding favor in his eye is equivalent to fear of being unfavorable in Jehovah's eyes.
