On my drive through Louisiana this afternoon, I stopped by the casino and asked the lady to show me how to play the Video Gambling Games. I fed my money into it, and committed a "gross WT sin". It felt quite liberating. I was also sporting my new goatee.

So if you bump into my former elders, please tell them that not only did I leave the organization, but I gamble now also.

It is not df'd offense now, read the latest elders manual. I think.

Apparently, leaving the organization and helping others to leave is not a disfellowshipping offense either. I have told 4 elders that I don't believe any of it, and they know that I've helped others to leave. One year later, all quiet.

Shoot. You engaged gambling every day you spent as a dub!

The only difference is, today you are gambling with a few bucks. But for all the years before that, you were gambling by trading your happiness and freedom and choice for a fantasy. No one EVER has won in that gamble, but at least at a casino you stand a chance of actually winning on your gamble!

And if you lose, only lose some money. With the OTHER gamble you took, if you lose, you lose everything that makes us happy and human.

I know what you are saying about feeling liberated. I can still remember the first time I gambled while driving through Reno. I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong so I ignored the WT's council. By the following year I was completely out of tower and have been a recreational gambler ever since. Sometimes I'm in Nevada surrounded by gambling and I don't participate. It is nice to be the one deciding what I want to do instead of letting letting those old turds in Brooklyn decide for me. I agree with Farkel. At least I have a chance of winning in Vegas and even if I loose at least I had a good time. I can't say the same about being a JW. A big difference between the Watchtower and a game of craps is that you can learn all about craps and still want to play. If you learn all about the Watchtower you won't want to play anymore.
