WIKIPEDIA: Media relations involves working with various media for the purpose of informing the public of an organization's mission, policies and practices in a positive, consistent and credible manner. Typically, this means coordinating directly with the people responsible for producing the news and features in the mass media. The goal of media relations is to maximize positive coverage in the mass media without paying for it directly through advertising.

If the WTS do have a Media Relations Department, where are they? Why aren't they put to a good use?

I have been out for a few decades.

Back when I was in, they had what they called Public Relations Department at each district assembly and larger and I believe even for circuit assemblies. I worked in that department for awhile.

When they had the big assemblies in New York, they WT sent articles to all the major papers and news outlets. Then the news outlets made special editions of the newspaper and sent and then distributed them only in the assembly locales. All Jw s gobbled them up they were only distributed to the local crowd who thought they were distributed all over the city.

Perhaps others on here will have more recent comments.

When I left in 2000, they had a Public Relations office, run by J.R. Brown.

I've since heard that things have changed.
