What ignorance of us to think it is us that God is listening too. Perhaps it is the ants and the punishment on them is us human jerks who treat them like, 'ants!' Maybe their day will come and God will do their vengence for them and smite us down to make things right with their queen, the God! Why should it make a difference??? Human's are emotional idiots who think they are important.

The Psalmist said God is the hearer of prayer. For us to have a relationship with God, any understanding of him, we must give him attributes understanding that it is not a true picture of what God is.

Nothing set me off. Just more a comment on perspective. People always think it is man that is the most important part of this world/ Why? Because a Bible or other religious books, written by man, tells them they are. In reality, man has been on the planet a small fraction of it's existence and yet we think we are the best. We are not even the most adaptive species, and frankly seem like a fish out of water in this world. The concept of survival to us, to changing our enviroment to fit us and make us safe. Whereas, with other species, they adapt and become part of the enviroment and live off what the region provides. So, in many ways, it makes me wonder. If there is a god that cares out there, why would it be to care for such a weak species as ours. When it appears that we may be, more of a punishment to either another species or this planet, itself!

I don't think man thinks he's the most important part of this world because of the bible saying so, or any of the other holy books. But because out of all other the creatures on this planet, man rules them and determines their fate, at least for now... like you said, man can change the environment to suit his needs. Now whether he does a good job at running things for the rest of the species or not, that is a different story. But I do think that we're the most adaptive species in that we can survive in almost any environment.

We've been made to feel important, and you're right- we're not. We're no important than anything else on this planet, and in this universe. Like everything else, we just happened, and like everything else, there will come a day where we no longer exist.

I had the worst pain known to humankind for decades. Suicide rate is more than 95%. God may very well listen but God does not seem to answer. I was admitted to hospice units and saw much. I lived in Manhattan downtown on September 11th. Once I believed God wanted me to prosper. My life was better than I ever could imagine as a Witness. I prayed formally every single day. The Bible was studied for hours. As time goes by and by, science is affirming our animal nature more than our special brains.

I have no answers. My life is an utter catastrophe. When I was younger, I could step on the hamster wheel, and get back on an amazing track. Not now. I am an outcast for something completely beyond my control.

Reading the Bible and praying did bring me some courage. I want to vomit when I hear about how groovy God is.
