A long time C.O. Norm Lum recently died from cancer. He was a working C.O. until the time of his death.
All expenses and apt provided for him. What happens to his wife now ? Any provisions for her or does she just get turfed out to fend for herself with no job skills and limited education. I would expect kicked to the curb as I believe them to be heartless bastards.
It can go either way for her. Mainly I think it will depend on who they knew as far as Org heavyweights go. Of course with hubby gone she loses some pull. Who does she know, and who does that person know....to put a word in for her to get called into bethel or offered a paid pioneer position. That is what it will boil down to.
So the servitude of being a S.P. or slave for Bethel for pittance. Not to worry "Armageddon"™ is just around the corner.
You can best assume a wife of one of the GB members would get looked after when their husbands die.
Sadly there so many stories of wifes losing their financial support from their husbands when their husbands pass on
or even when these elderly people can no longer work. Because there is so much perseverance of the end is so soon
many JWs do not prepare themselves for retirement, most have to move in with relatives or get some kind of government social assistance.
For most of the COs wives they will have Social Security and medicare, period. They may get housing from a local congregation or family.
