Question about Circuit Assemblies from a Mom Who's Daughter Converted

Hi guys, I found a link that was posted here a while back, that had recordings of a CA in December, 2010. (thanks) Now, my friend would like to listen to all of it, as her college daughter just attended one here in Arizona recently. Our question is - how similar are they to each other? I see that it's like conventions, in that all the talks use the same basic outline. So, would it be safe to say that the talks have VERY much the same content from place to place?

    thanks, auntbee

AuntBee. All of Jehovah's Witnesses talks are standardized whether they be local Kingdom Hall meetings, Circuit Assemblies or District Assemblies. This is so throughout the entire nation.

They're often times outlines or can even be verbatim; scripted exactly word for word.

OK. Thanks, that's what i thought. I just wanted to confirm that for her, so she knows she'll be getting the scoop on what the daughter heard.

Wish her luck, and fortitude, if she has got to sit through hours of unadulterated sewage !

Also give her a lead as to how to spot loaded language and cult-speak, and the part these play in the mind-control process no doubt already having an effect upon her daughter.

To stop her falling asleep, as I used to do at every assembly, tell her to look out for one word of truth, they are so hard to spot that it jars you awake if something does pop up.

Wobble: LOL, great suggestions! I just listened to one of the talks from the CA, and i was jarred when the speaker said "the blood of Christ" because it was in the verse he wanted to get some other point from. But he moved on quickly from that, and only expounded on the other part of the verse that seemed to support his point. -- Also it stood out to me the UNBELIEVABLE repetitiveness of the talks. I've been to 2 conventions and listened to some talks online, and as those on here say, they have only a few points they hammer OVER and OVer. And of course, it's all LAW, no GOSPEL.

The outlines provided to the different speakers are all the same. The outlines assign an allotted time to the talk. This leaves little room for veering off course. However, some elders who pride themselves on being "teachers" will expand on some of the footnoted material (scriptures that the outline allows to be cited or a WTS magazine article that may also be cited if the speaker has time). So you could hear a program part delivered by two different elders in different locations and they would be similar and contain the same main points - but one may have an anecdote, an experience, or some interpretation of a scripture that the other lacks.

Also, some guys are way better at public speaking so it's also possible to hear the same talk from two speakers and feel they are substantially different.
