Tribute to Joe Palooka,my Sunday comic hero of the 1940's,

In the early 30's, it was a humble cartoon beginning
Steve Palooka (I don't know where he fit in? I thought it was Joe) became the champion of the ongoing Great Depression.
Some war propaganda was a natural with such a champion.
As today, his brand would hawk certain products.
Somewhat racy for the period, my folks probably shielded me from this one.

Hmmm .... just learned that Joe Palooka's younger brother Steve was the fictional middlweight champion. May as well keep it all in the family.
