Robert King, the Jehovah's Witness podcaster and webmaster going by the title The Watchman (or e-Watchman), answered an atheist's email duing one of his podcasts. In it, he tackles subjects which apparently turned the emailer from a Jehovah's Witness himself into an atheist. Thes subjects include slavery in the Bible, a few odd commandments found in Leviticus, and the story of Elisha and the bears. Tackled in such a way as to build the faith, the Watchman is confident by the end of his podcast that he has shown atheism has no future.

Ever read this guy's essays? He's no dummy. It's unbelievable that he can't see the forest for the trees.

This is the information age. The days of pretzel logic and dancing around Jehovah's atrocities are over. The vicious god of the OT stands convicted by his own words and deeds.

Jehovah doesn't change, he just fades into irrelevance, like this guy and his diatribes.

But hey, he's exposing the Watchtower, so he does serve somewhat of a useful purpose. Hopefully whoever he draws out of the cult won't get sucked into his. It doesn't look like many are.

    I enjoyed the videos.

Robert might want to attend some refresher courses on polishing turds.

His website, essays, book, and forum were instrumental in getting me out of the cult. While doctrinally he isn't much more rational than the Watchtower, to my knowledge he doesn't use cult mind control methods, which makes him ok in my book.

I should check in to the old e-w forum and see if there are any "I miss him" threads about me.

Okay Mad, I'll admit it, finding his website was my first step towards Watchtower detox. I used to be a big poster over there too. Problem is, he's just a mean dude.

    I'm sending you a PM.....

if he got you outside the WT and got you in the LDS, is that good?

I know someone who helped someone get out the LDS into the WT..... I dont think he was any better.

I think the point about e-w is that it seems like most people he helps get out don't stick with his brand of wackiness. He's a steppingstone to freedom, not a destination.
