There is a Jewish gnostic take on Adam and Eve. Adam had two wives: Lillith, a feminist, and Eve, not very spiritual. Lillith wanted gnosis, knowledge. She wanted to be tied to the spiritual world. Evil Eve was tied to physical creation. I first heard of Lillith when I was in college with many Jewish students. I guess she was the Mary Magdalene to Jews.
I don't know how far back Lillith goes. She definitely existed as much as Eve did. I go no further than Adam and Eve to hate the Bible.
