The Watchtower doesn't discourage being rich even though they say they do

Everything in the JW organization is tailored for obtaining new members. Do the math yourself and you will find out that's where it all leads to: getting more baptized members. Baptized members are expected to donate; it comes with the territory. So naturally more baptisms equates to more donations at the meetings and the conventions.

This is just the basic religion scam and the Witnesses are making good use of it. They do have one large difference between most other religion scams. They discourage furthering yourself in this world. For instance, that's not how the Catholic Church works. They want their members to make more money because the more their members have the more they have.

So why does the Watchtower discourage acts from their members that would be profitable (like getting a higher education, pursue sports etc)? You better believe that Witnesses who make a ton of money are going to donate a whole lot more. Well the fact is, the Watchtower doesn't really discourage being rich even though they try to make it look like they do. What they are really hard on is education. Education is far more dangerous to the organization than rich members. I have been around lots of fithly rich Witnesses and do you know how they got their fortunes? Markets that don't require a university education like construction. Many Witnesses own their own businesses and that is a sure fire way to skip an education and make it big.

Oh the Witnesses discourage working too much because they still need the indoctrination to be frequent, but they don't care if you are rich. In fact they secretly want you to be rich because they get a portion of your money. When it boils down to it if they get the money it's mission accomplished.

Secular education destroys Witness doctrine in every way shape or form. So the Witnesses are going after it now and have been since Rutherford came in I think. Stupid people are easier to extort money from so that's the Watchtower's extortion model and that's why higher education is their enemy.

It's also important to note that there is another factor as to why the Watchtower discourages education. The time factor is actually very significant. The Watchtower craves your time. Because once you give the Watchtower your time you give them opportunity to do their "razzle dazzle" stuff with you. So naturally they are going to highly discourage anything that takes the time you gave to them to someone else. Giving the Watchtower your time is like letting a shark sniff some of your blood droplets.

The Watchtower is the red-headed step child of the world's snake oil scam artists. They make it hard on themselves with their burdensome framework of keeping their sheep dumbed down and busy while they politely ask them if they can go through their wallets. The big flaw in their approach is that people typically are not going to fall for such a simple scam forever. Which is another reason why they pump resources into the preaching work because they need to replace the people that are leaving, droves at a time.

One thing that proves this is true is the special treatment rich witnesses get on the congregational and even higher levels.

The more logic and reason we apply to the Watchtower's happenings the clearer the picture of what they are actually doing becomes.

I haven't got anything to add, but i completely agree with you.

You basically summed it up. They force their little lemmings to be uneducated, hard working, money making machines.

I have to wonder, if the Watchtower is so concerned about increasing the numbers, and it's really all about the bottom $$$$ line, why they are on a witch hunt to throw so many out? Wouldn't it make better business sense to be just a little more tolerant?

"Wouldn't it make better business sense to be just a little more tolerant?"

Nope. Once their followers have a taste of freedom, they'll crave more and more until they become a part of the world. They want their followers to have complete trust in only them, and the only way to do that is to have them on a tight leash.

It's the old 'Give them an inch and they'll take a mile' mentality.

Think about it, the ones that stand in opposition to the scam are a serious monetary risk. Apostates are like little suicide bombers from the Watchtower's perspective because they often take people down with them. That's why they are the most strongly demonized people by the Watchtower.

As for the DFing of the "lesser sinners" they are only a potential risk especially if the acused is a head of a household. These quite literally are heads in the fact that if they fall the body follows. So if the head of a Watchtower household falls the family usually falls with him, I have seen it many times and the Watchtower is very aware of the phenomenon.

I have discovered that if you use the "follow the money" approach you can figure out why the Wachtower do the things they do.

Problem: If the witlesses ever do become rich, they are supposed to deposit their money into the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund. This is as true with modest sums of money as with huge ones.

Example: Once I found a modest sum ($TP200) in an air conditioner I bought from a witless, and reported it to the person I bought it from. He insisted that I throw it away by putting it into the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund. Had I instead invested the same TP$200 into silver, I would have been able to pick up 40 ounces of the stuff and be sitting on 8 times as much money now as then. (And soon to be 200 times more even than that.)

Now, suppose instead of a modest sum, it was a huge sum. Suppose I owned a large tract of land, and was digging around and hit a "rock". That rock was totally loaded with both silver and gold, with a good chunk of platinum, palladium, and rhodium thrown in for good measure. I kept digging, and found tons of the above metals. Soon, word about the find hits the congregation, and pretty soon they are going to look at me as a resource for money. They need gas--they call on me. They want "food"--they call on me. They will also expect hefty donations toward the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund as well. Basically, by the time they quit, all the precious metals will be exhausted, totally wasted.
