Just heard of the death of Jet Harris. I suppose with all the happenings in Japan and Libya it didn't make much of a headline.

No, he was an alcoholic for about 30 years.
When the Shadows had their 50 year celebration concert he was not invited, though I think he went on parts of the tour, but he did get the MBE. Hank Marvin of course turned it down 'for personal reasons'!
Jet's first wife (of four) had an affair with Cliff (Hi Fans) Richard. She is the only woman documented to have slept with him!
