I'm getting ready to launch an online store but have a few questions maybe some can help with. The last thing I need to finish is the template. I have someone ready to do this. I am wondering though, about the template. I don't want the store to be the typical doom and gloom - store will sell survival kits, walking sticks, camo, and even jewlery for women (hey, urban survival :) ). Anyways, I was thinking about using a template that is more in line with JW depictions of Armageddon (puke I know). Where maybe a disaster in the background, with a family coming over a hill or something and surviving. That was one thought, to offer hope. Yea I know, survival sites are geared towards doom, but its kind of my hobby. Thoughts or inputs on the design welcome. Thanks!

Some good ideas: Silver! That is going to be the means of exchange in the near future--I would not put much faith in the dollar or euro much longer. And, the new world currency is already toilet paper--the Amero is about as inherently valuable as the dollar.
Other good ideas: Camping gear. Backpacks. Bicycles--when gas goes to a nonillion dollars a gallon or becomes too scarce to afford, these items will be worth big bucks. Batteries--the rechargeable type. Battery chargers, flashlights, lanterns. Such are worth their weight in silver when we start getting regular blackouts or you need to live in campgrounds. Solar chargers are good for prolonged blackouts or living in the wilderness.
I cannot think of any items that might help you survive mandatory doctor visits, the criminalization of growing your own food, the mountain of IRS Form 1099s, or needing sick care from the government (under jail time). But, at least you can help provide items that will be indispensable for the fake energy crisis and hyperinflation.

Thanks!! Those were items I was thinking of as well. I might throw a JW spin ;) on the template picture with a city burning on one side and then a nice dressed family on the other side of the page walking up over a hill with green pastures, and a nice sun rising... hahahaha

Lots of produce, meat, fresh baked goods, beer, water, wine, chocolate, etc. In other words, sell guns.

I say keep it simple - solid colors, clean lines, minimal clutter, and easy navigation. Images that break that pattern will attract the eye, and should thus be limited to products.

Run more than one store front. That way you can target everyone from Survivalist loonies to sensible homebodies reading the standard advice in their telephone book or local Civil Defence websites, and even specialise in selling to specific cults.
