Oh, man...
So many different techniques of using fear to manipulate the Rank&File Jehovah's Witnesses...
First of all, "Andre's" scary experience occurred 25 years ago... Wow, that sure does show the urgency of the problem...
Secondly, he was engaged in such an innocent activity - why, any one of us could be killed by terrorists while walking out to our mailboxes!!
Oh, and under "Who are Terrorists?", this point sounded vaguely familiar:
"...terrorism involves...the use of violence [or the threat of violence...] for dramatic purpose, namely to instill fear..."
Ironically, the Watchtower Society has used a nearly constant "threat" of various forms of violence to instill fear into its members... [Violence at "Armageddon"... Violence of "worldly" people... Violence of "the nations"... and so on...] The Watchtower Society uses such threats of violence for control... Just as other terrorists do...
In cases like the German Witnesses just prior to the rise of Nazism, and the Malawi Witnesses who were told not to purchase government cards, the Watchtower Society has set up its own members as "victims", conveniently using national interests of despotic nations to generate martyrs, while keeping their own hands sanctimoniously "clean".
A technique they also use in much the same way with regards to blood loss victims ["WE aren't blood-guilty; THEY chose to follow THEIR consciences!"] and victims of their harsh disfellowshipping edicts ["WE aren't blood-guilty; THEY chose to leave US by not obeying the Gov.Bod's every whim..."], to name just two other areas wherein they set up their own members for victimization...
Oh, and in the article, "Why Your Speech Matters", I would absolutely LOVE to catch the Gov.Bod members with an open mike...

Nice post Zid . . . agree with all of that . . . if the "threat" of terror to instil fear is the work of terrorists . . . then terrorists they are!
Also, we all knew in advance that 'Andre' would survive . . . otherwise he wouldn't have had the countless other experiences 'Andre' has had over the years. 'Andre' is "indistructible" . . . 'Andre' already has everlasting life!
