Tax The Rich? Be Careful

  As it is, state governments are too dependent on the rich for tax revenues. A study showed that people entering New York state, for example, have lower incomes than those leaving the state. I now understand why some Democrats are leary of taxing people who can move, hire lobbyists, or employ smart lawyers.

  I wholeheartedly feel that there is too much centralization of wealth especially in the US - but this problem will be tricky to solve.

  One of the problems is that, for some reason, wealthy people act like they created their wealth within a vaccum. They became wealthy using the infrastructure that ALL taxpayers support. If they are profiting off of it at a higher rate, I see no problem with them acknowledging it with their corporate checkbooks.
