OK follow my reasoning before you think I had too much to drink.

Sin is the harmful and sometimes silly-sounding concept that is

easy to dismiss, especially for non-believers..The whole notion of

one,s self being so depraved, so horrible, so without merit in God

eyes, so unworthy of being allowd to breath without God,s mercy

let alone have(sinful food or physical pleasure) is all too deeply

engrained in Christianity, particularly among the more Fire-and-

    Brimstoners.

Many modern thinkers argue that being taught how horribly harmful

and wicked we are, beginning in early childhood, is downright

harmful to A healthy psychological development and existence.

The idea, we are born into sin, is it possible to live without sinning?

We eat animals, often causing them great horrow and distress.

We put our needs ahead of others, we say things we don,t mean

out of vulnerability, and we all believe in the survival of the fittest.

It is for selfish people who care not what they do to others that

we somtimes wish there were eternal punishment. But to what

degree do we not all sin by living. How many of you have eaten

A turkey that has been wrestle away from her babies..Is this

A selfish act. I do beleive we are born with" selfish genes".

Forget Adam and Eve, Iam sure they would have sin without

eating of the fruit. We do cause harm or sin through mere

    existence..

So through the evolution of the myth, we move to A narrative

of highly guilt ridden internalizations of evil spirit and self hatred.

May be I got carry away, but I get so tired of the self-righteous

    people.

I think sin kind of falls under our 'animal'-like nature where as being more and more sinless progresses us to a more ideal, spiritual, somewhat 'godly' nature. In that frame of reference, do not believe sin to be a myth but a natural part of who we are.

In a sense, it seems amazing that we seem to know what it means to be more 'ideal' or perfect while yet never actually acheiving it. Of course, we could just be making up what is ideal based on what we want.

The idea of sin is a marketing trick.

Obviously any intelligent social creature will develop rules of conduct that people within that culture are expected to abide by.

However 'original' sin, the idea that humans are somehow unworthy, is an idea that creates a need (for forgiveness, redemption), where no need actually exists.

No one needs religion, so the idea of 'sin' was developed to allow the parasitic profession of priest to prosper.

With ‘sin’ they could sell you something you didn’t know you needed, just like many marketing ploys for largely useless products are created for the benefit of a company.
