Pretty excited. I recently accepted the position of Master of Whisky-Pacific Northwest for Diageo N America. Basically, it's a whisky brand ambassador gig. I do staff education courses on whisk(e)y for bars & restaurants, host & conduct whisk(e)y tastings & seminars, & basiclly act as a whisk(e)y expert and educator/speaker.
I represent Diageo's whisk(e)y portfolio which consists of: Johnnie Walker, Bushmills Irish Whiskey, Crown Royal, The Classic Malts of Scotland (Oban, Lagavulin, Cardhu, Singleton, Cragganmore, Caol Ila, Dalwhinnie, Glenkinchie, Clynelish, Brora, Knockando, Port Ellen, Auchroisk, & Talisker), Bulleit Bourbon & Rye, George Dickel Tennessee Whisky, and Buchannan's.
Anyhow, A big part of my training is to get first hand experience and knowledge from the distilleries that I represent. Beginning May 15th, I'fly into Glasgow and begin touring such distilleries as Oban, Lagavulin, Royal Lochnagar, Drummuir Castle, Cardhu, etc. Toward the end nd of the trip, I'll jog over to N Ireland, County Antrim to tour Bushmills.
Damn, I'm excited! Just wanted to share.
I am one of 15 Masters of Whisky across the US. You can see my photo and read my MOW bio if you go to www.crownroyal.com enter the site, click on the "Masters" tab at the top, then click on "West". My name is Breck Taylor. Check it out!
