    Blood — Young Witnesses

Today I uploaded a bit of documentation demonstrating that it is false to say all Jehovah’s Witnesses fully endorse Watchtower blood doctrine, and particularly among the young or parents of the young.

My article is titled Blood — Young Witnesses and is available at: http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com/2011/04/blood-young-witnesses.html

    Hi Marvin

I looked at the original article and noticed there was a mention that JW parents were quite willing to authorize transfusions for their minor children - I wonder if any distinction has ever been made between the *nudge wink* you'll-have-to-get-a-court-order-Doctor and outright I'll-sign-the-consent-form-right-now kind of scenarios that might be encountered when dealing with JW parents and their children.

    Scully,

Watchtower has seriously misrepresented the religious conviction of young Jehovah's Witnesses and/or their parents regarding Watchtower's blood doctrine.

From the original article published in Cancer Control Journal:

"Of the seven Jehovah's Witness patients who were 21 years of age or younger, five accepted blood transfusions, one did not require blood, and one refused blood."

Of the six that needed it five accepted blood transfusion. That is more than 80%! With a percentage like that there is less of a need to seek court orders. And, you know what, I think this is exactly how Watchtower wants it. Children dying over a doctrine Watchtower is too cowardly to defend in full public view does not make for good religion business!

Interesting. Maybe things had progressed by then. Back in the day, they were really into child sacrifice.
