Our History -- BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

    For everyone on Jehovahs-Witness.net:

Memorial is here, and it is the perfect time for me to make my big announcement. I want this community to be the first to know.

I have finished writing my novel! Angels and Women is the story of Judge Rutherford and the early history of the Watchtower. I have launched a website: michaelmussman.com, where you can download two chapters in PDF format. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

The title Angels and Women I borrowed from a very old book that was a favorite of Rutherford’s. Many of you will recognize the characters and events I portray, like Bonnie Boyd, William P. Heath, and the riot at Madison Square Garden. But this is a work of fiction, and you’ll see it is my own interpretation.

Please excuse the shameless self-promotion, but you can’t imagine how excited I feel about this big accomplishment. Writing an 86,000 word novel was an absolute labor of love. I couldn’t do this alone. I have to acknowledge two special people who helped. The first is Leonard Chretien, a fellow San Diegan who pointed me toward Beth Sarim and Beth Shan. And the second goes by Blondie – her in-depth research and detective work have exposed so much hidden history. Thank you both!

Whether you’re disfellowshipped, inactive, fading, or doubting, I want my work to move and inspire you in some small way.

ALso, now that the manuscript is finished, I’m seeking representation. If you are an agent or editor, or know someone who is, then I would love to talk to you. Write to me: michael dot vegas dot mussman at gmail – thank you!

    Hi!

Just wanted to extend my congratulations... I'm finishing up my undergraduate degree, majoring in history, and I know the effort it has taken to merely write my senior thesis! How long did this take you to research and write?

I thought I'd let you know that the link in your post didn't appear to work when I clicked on it, however I copied your name and googled it and found your webpage.

I am not certain if you were aware, but there doesn't appear to be an email address to contact you through your webpage (at least not that jumped out at me). There was a link to "leave a comment" however when I clicked on it, it brought me back to the home page.

And one of the PDFs wouldn't open up... not sure if that is on my end or just a bad link on the site.

Not trying to be a downer! Really! Just want everyone who wishes to contact you to be able to do so!

I am looking forward to the book... I see that you are positing your book as "fiction"... or am I just misunderstanding your use of the term? Will it be based on the facts, but with artistic license to jazz it up?

    Best of luck!

    muzzy,

Getting an 'ataboy' from brizzzy is a very good thing. Her new book is amazing. Even more amazing, it's her first book!!! It's easy to read, always interesting, shocking, traumatic and dramatic, and most importantly TRUE!!!

And hey guys, don't be fooled by that title. Her book is obviously from a young woman's point of view - and she is the main character - you will soon realize that her story could just as easily have been experienced by a young man.

I've read an advanced copy (which I found excellent), and the final version can only be better. She has set the bar very high for the rest of us who want to write a book about anything.

Everyone on this board, yes even those of you in England and Scotland!!!!!! should get this book and read every freakin' word. Do not skip a page. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

    JV
