Why would ANY parent do this?

Luke 2 49,50: 49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

Why, in all that is good and holy, would any parent inform their son that he was, indeed, the son of God? And what did he do with this information? Makes a passive aggressive jab at the obvious "gap" of intelligence between them.

and, Mary knew who her baby daddy was. Gabriel had told her, I guess, when he took Jehovah's turkey baster to her uterus. She had to have told Joseph so he wouldn't think she was a common whore. They already knew Jehovah was the proud pappa. Why wouldn't they "understand what he was saying to them"?

The scripture certainly implies that somebody told Jesus he was the son of God. But who told him? Maybe it was like how they say an annointed person knows they are of the annointed. they just get a funny feeling in their gonads or something.

I never understood that part. It was almost like they forgot... or started to doubt, or perhaps didn't fully understand what that meant.

They had to since he didn't recieve anything divine until he was baptised. Remember the dove... duh!

There is some serious comedy within the realm of stories of how Jesus found out he was the son of God. A school yard recess blacktop basketball game would suffice.

Boy! Poor joseph jehovah is a tough act to follow. I mean it's no wonder we don't hear much of him after a while.
