Why are Awakes/Watchtowers so hard to burn?

Shooting them with a 12ga or high-powered rifle is much more effective....and therapeutic.
Any book or magazine will be difficult to burn because the stacked paper makes it hard for oxygen to circulate between the pages. No oxygen=no fire. If you were to remove each page individually and burn them that way, it would be much easier.

Not to mention the emotional satisfaction from tearing them physically apart.

It's to do with surface area, I expect they would burn real quick if you put them through a shredder first.

You have to rub the pages together really hard for a couple of minutes before they are any use at all for wiping your nether regions and the ink stains your undies for at least one wash so I try to avoid using them
