I haven't stayed there but I've been through the area - it's gorgeous. I stayed east of there near St. Moritz, which is also gorgeous. Oh hell, Switzerland is all kinds of gorgeous.

I'm wondering how bad the altitude sickness potential is. I had a hard time in Denver

Is that your first destination or are you heading there from elsewhere in Europe?

That day, we will take the train from Venice.

oh wow, what a great train ride! You'll love it. It'll probably be similar to when I took a day trip down to Tirano, Italy. If you're staying near Interlaken, it's not that high - probably around 2000 feet above sea level, maybe a bit less. You'll probaly feel a little more tired than usual the first few days but get a bar of Frigor chocolate and you'll be all set.

Ok I need a bar of chocolate right now!
Actually, thank you, you just made me think of something. We flew in to Denver, and I felt like hell I mean we were about to take me to the Emergency room. But this will be much more gradual. That's a good thing!

Indeed dahling, but you do live at sea level and you'll be travelling from Venice so you'll have an adjustment to deal with. Just give yourself a few days and drink LOTS of water - I mean LOTS.
And if you've ever had Swiss chocolate here in North America and loved it, you'll have a chocolategasm in Switzerland - their exported chocolate is not nearly as good as the stuff you buy there. -

Great train ride. Up through the Eiger. Then, on top of the world! Beautiful country.
