Hear the story of a young teenager indoctrinated into the Mormon church and culture, growing to a man who would one day reject everything he'd been taught to believe. The similarities to the Jw's are uncanny.

Stan's full story can be found in written form at:http://www.exmormon.org/whylft79.htm

I always had a bad taste in my mouth for the question on the pioneer and bethel applications that asked, "do you belive that spirtual food from Jehovah is being provided through the "failthful and descreet slave"?"

After hearing him comment on his question if you accept the doctrines of the church as the word of god.....well I have a whole new perspective on the question now.

Excuse my while I go find some mouth wash.

Thank you for the video. Let mention that I have seen some other videos form the exmorman website, I found several others are also very meaningful to me.

If you are a witness on the fence, I reccomend you watch some of the others.

Frighteningly similar to JW fence sitters. The aspect of what he defined as a "Temple Marriage" Ghastly.

Excellent video, isn't it so true. If you have doubts, check them out. And keep checking until you are satisfied with the answers.

When I was studying. For some reason any doubts I had I put down to just not understanding. And I figured that eventually I would.

Once I changed that thought pattern and actively set out to prove things I quickly discovered my doubts were justified. Ironically, what I set out to do was prove that the witnessess were above board. Just to put my mind at ease and commit more fully. What I discovered was the complete opposite. As I started to find out things, more and more just came flooding in showing the inconsitencies of what was being taught. And the fabrications and justification of UN involvement and false predictions.

My only regret is it took me 10 years to question the organisation along with their teachings.

The Mormons give alot of position to young men, as this man explains. Perhaps this is what the Watch Tower is trying to mimic with its recent push to baptize children earlier & earler. Mormons do not lose as many young children.

The Internet was this man's eye opener. I love the mind and ass analogy. Free the mind and the ass will follow.

Rule #1 of a religious cult - convince the followers that the leadership speaks for God.

Rule #2 - tell the followers to sit down, shut up, or else.

So, this Mormon was not allowed to ask questios. Gee, I've seen that at the Kingdom Hall. If you ask too many questions, you are ousted and stripped of all priveledges. Check. Lose all friendships. Check.

Ex-Mormons, like ex-JWs, have 'been there and got the tshirt"LOL

Both are Dooms -Day Cults, having the same roots. That is why there isn't much difference between WT and Mormons. In fact I was suprised with the common beliefs that they both hold

My dad was raised a Mormon and converted to the JW's when he was 20. All his family stayed Mormon and we would go down to Ogden and visit them every few years. From the time I was a teenager I would read and study stuff about the mormons--because it wasn't ok to do the same thing with the JW's--I never could shake the conviction that there were many similarities between them. I think that is what really helped me to see things more relatively and less dogmatically. They even have some of the same urban legends as the JW's.

Excellent video!! And indeed eerily similar feelings to doubting JWs.
I would just like to highlight a very powerful thing this man mentioned in the video. He said, "Free the mind, and the @€€ will follow." Words to remember.

    Oh, I absolutely LOVE IT!!

    Especially this point:

"The game-changer was the growing influence of a phenomenon called "the internet."

LOLOLOL!! As has been said, it is for good reason that the Watchtower Society fears the internet info highway and is trying to demonize it.

Oooh! OOOOH! That expression - "Free the mind, and the ass will follow..." LOLOLOL!! I might use that as my 'tagline' from now on!!

Yes, I just finished watching the video and there are a number of chilling parallels to the Jehovah's Witnesses... Brrrrrrrr!
