I was talking to an old friend last night that told me she was recently Df'd for celebrating holidays . She refused their efforts to meet with them so they just made the decision on their own !

She has been inactive almost a year and has refused to meet or talk at the door with any Elder this whole time . I don't know what evidence they had against her ,but it just seems so petty to me for them to do this .

The holiday issue was what they started after me with too. I guess when they have nothing more to hang on you ......

My friend has children and grandchildren that are not Witnesses and she naturally wants to share in their special occasions . How stupid for a religion to say that is wrong ,and an offense so horrible you need to be ostrisized from the rest of your JW family by dfing...... jerks

They are jerks! We are really open with celebrating holidays and we haven't heard a peep so far. They turned up last year wanting to meet with us and Carrot told them to clear off. Plus my mom phoned the PO and gave him what for. Said she would sue each and every elder if they so much looked at either of us! Lol. That might have had something to do with it!

    Peace

I think Cantleave was outed by posting pictures of his kids Birthday party on F.B but what exactly the "charge" was I don't know, I am not sure that he and Nugget do, or that they care.

We cannot spend our lives looking over our shoulders as Faders, if we are to do that we may as well be JW's, so I say do as you want, and tell the pric*s to F off like Watersprouts mum did if they threaten.

We were asked if we believed the GB was gods representative on Earth and we said no. They had pulled off our facebook pages and JWN posts including a picture of the xmas tree so really they could have chosen anything at that point short of fornication and blood.

It's their club not mine I can do as I please and often do.

I had two fine brothers come to my house because of my wreath. I think they were there to encourage me but if I recall it took them less than 30 seconds to show me on whose authority they had come. Wobble, I agree that if you are going to not answer doors, phone calls and basically have to hide then you might as well just be a dub. I gave them the scriptures about each man choosing his important days but they kept on with the pagan buzzwords. I told them that they cannot possibly judge what my motives and reasons for celebrating christmas are. It was one of the first real lessons for me that logic and reason will not work for those that do not want it to work. They had a second group of "brothers" come about a week later. One of them was a man I really looked up to as a kid and worked with for about three years and the new PO who i dont really know other than he is a black and white kind of a guy. We talked for about an hour, no "do you know whose authority we come in" kind of talks. Just talking about why I feel its ok to "celebrate a lie" and why thats no different that 1914/1919 being a lie.

They then "invited" me to the kingdom hall on a friday night so we could discuss the things and I politely declined several times. When they told me that a meeting would be held without me I told them I would give them my resignation letter an hour earlier because there is no way I will allow myself to be formally judged by any men. I didnt feel like I needed to hide it I just couldnt force myself to beleive that my lifelong friends would not listen to logic or reason. It was a tough lesson but nonetheless one my children will not have to learn.
