    1983 Yearbook p11.

The Puerto Rico branch tells about an interested person who was studying with a special pioneer but whose husband showed no desire to do so. One day his five-year-old daughter said, "Daddy, I want to grow up so I can be baptized." Later she said, "Daddy, please study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses so that you will not be destroyed and then you can be with us in Paradise." These words of the young child and the great change in his wife's conduct made him think. He asked for a Bible study and is making good progress

his name was andre. unfortunately he suffered from a serious problem with pornography. but through constant bible study and prayer, he managed to quit his lucrative job as a pornographic distributor and despite no education, he received a job with the EU for 3,000 euros per month. now he is a pillar of strength in the congregation. and he owes this all to disfellowshipping.

(well it could have happened this way .. )

Just shows the indoctrination that kids get.

Clearly the five year old new next to nothing about the org. accept that she had been told that only JWs will not be destroyed by God.

"Daddy, please study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses so that you will not be destroyed and then you can be with us in Paradise."

If the average JW were to read about any other religious organisation scaring young children half to death with threats about God killing one of their parents unless they joined that particular religion, they would no doubt be horrified and appalled.

Yet somehow they find it quite acceptable to do this to their own children.

Ah, yes. Isn't that the message that Jesus preached? From book of Matthew, chapter 19, verse 14: "Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." [Then Jesus proceeded to scare the hell out of them by telling them to convince their parents to become Jehovah's Witnesses or else their parents wouldn't be with them in Paradise. The children did as they were told and Jesus was somewhat pleased. He would later also teach them to get baptized as soon as possible otherwise they won't have a chance in hell of surviving the destruction of Jerusalem which was due to occur in their generation.]."

I hate their loaded use of the word "destroyed." It means killed, murdered, assasinated for supporting something other than the Jehovah Monarchy. Destroyed. You destroy THINGS. You KILL people. The Borg is teaching little kids that the motive for genocide is love.

A cult needs to program little ones with fear from their youth, otherwise how will they ever manage to control a growing thinking human being? Poison the mind of a child with fear and guilt and the chances of this child staying to the controlling power increase. The JW parents that's don't instil this total fear in their little ones have a greater chance of seeing their kids leave the cult.
The story in the YB is most likely just that - a story. Unless the man was on medications and had problems with reality. No adult's faith be shaken by 5 year old telling them they were going to die!!! An adult would explain to the child that someone misinformed the child and find out who it was and go give the other individual shit for putting stupid ideas into his kid's head! When not in the wts cult it's so much easier to see through their BS!!!

The five-year old probably grew up and was df'd, and now both parents shun her. She has children that they've never met.
